Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of respect for the first peoples of Australia we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the unceded lands across which this Program takes place and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Australia for millennia have had sovereignty of complex food systems that successfully provide for collective and ongoing health and wellbeing needs of the community, and this knowledge is passed through the generations.

We acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge and wisdom to the work that has occurred in remote community stores and the broader community for better food and nutrition and recognise the privilege we have in continuing together to build understanding of how best to support healthy food environments and food systems in remote communities.
